Project Question: Hi, I have to interview an expert for my science project. It is on how much volts I can conduct using different lengths of copper coils to make an electromagnet generator.
My questions are:
What is your name, your title/position,and what is your contact info.(phone,e-mail)?
How much voltage does a nomal generator has?
How can electromagnetism be a new way of energy?
How is it used in everyday life?
Project Due Date: My report and my data are due on Dec. 17, 2009.
Project Status: I am conducting my research

Interview with an expert

Post by budd6632 »

Hi, I have a science project that needs an interview. My topic is on how much volts I can conduct using different lenths of copper wire to power an electromagnet generator in order to light up an LED diode. My questions are:

Does electromagnetism affect the enviorment?

How is electromagnetism part of your career?

Will electromagnetism affect the economy in anyway?

How long can an electromagnetic generator last? Does it depend?

How can electromagnetism help us?

Thanks

1) What is your name, title/positions, and your contact info.(phone,e-mail)?
You are asking for some identifying information that is beyond what is permitted on Science Buddies forums, Craig Bridge, Electrical Engineer
2) How can electromagnetism be a new way of energy on Earth?
That would be something that I would expect you as an investigator to figure out. The physics principles of electromagnatism have been well understood and applied for at least a century.
3) How much voltage does a battery have compared to an electromagnet generator?
This question has no scientific merit. Batteries and generators can be designed to produce a wide range of voltages.
4) Does electromagnetism affect the enviorment?
The earth itself is a physically large magnet and we likely would not exist without the solar flare radiation protection that the earth provides. Whether locally strong electromagnetic fields have enviornmental impacts is a topic of current scientific and political debate.
5) How is electromagnetism part of your career?
Without electromagnetism, I wouldn't have a career and much of the equipment I use would not exist.
6)When electromagnetism becomes a new way of energy will it help the economy of make it worse?
All changes affect things in ways that are hard to predict. Given that I don't understand specifically what you mean by "When electromagnetism" becomes a new way of energy, I can't offer an opionion on what things might be affected.
