Determines whether a person is an Audio or Visual Learner?
I am doing a project to determine what kind of information, audio or visual, is easier for students to remember.
What part of the brain determines whether a person is an Audio Learner or a Visual learner?

Thank You!

Re: Determines whether a person is an Audio or Visual Learner?
Hi,
The answer is, we don't really know yet, although chances are that visual learners have more development in the visual cortex and auditory learners have more development in the primary auditory cortex. Here's a great article that reviews what we DO know about learning styles and neuroscience; you might try starting with it and then looking at some papers that cite it and some of the papers that it cites: http://www.springerlink.com/content/cu16368742132614/ .
You might try looking learning styles up in Google Scholar--that's where the above research paper came from. I looked on the internet, but there didn't seem to be a lot of good information out there. There is this, however, about visual learners that might interest you: http://www.physorg.com/news157202233.html .
Good luck!

Do you have an email I can use in my works cited? I must have to have at least one email, and I can't seem to have anyone else reply to my emails. Thanks.

Unfortunately, experts and students are not allowed to post their e-mail addresses on the forum, since all communication must take place on the forum for student safety reasons.
So, I'm afraid that I can't. Sorry!
