Experiment question

Post by tbeidel »

The experiment "Mag-nificent Breakfast Cereal" states to use 2 cups cereal. Then it says put 250mL of cereal in a blender and 250mL of distilled water. On the measuring cup the 250mL isn't 2 cups. Which should we use, 2 cups or 250mL which is about 1 cup.

Thanks

You are right--250 mL is about 1 cup. I suspect it's just a typo on someone's part.

I would use 250 mL at first--then, if that doesn't work, try using two cups. But I suspect they want you to use the same amount of water and cereal, so I'm guessing that 250 mL (1 cup) is the correct amount of cereal.

I'm sorry that you ran into a problem with the project! We've updated Step 1 of the Experimental Procedure to reflect that "1 cup" of each cereal is needed.

Good luck with the experiment!
