Hi,

I suggest going through Science Buddies' Topic Selection wizard, or browsing through Science Buddies' project ideas, here: https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... l?From=Tab. All of the projects on our website include an estimated time for completion, so you ought to be able to find something that can be done relatively quickly.

Good luck!

Project Question: I am doing my science fair project on the way a diet effects a hamster, is it best to use 2 different brands, or to try to replicate their natural diet? And what would be their natural diet?

well what are you interested in?
Zoology?
or maybe psychology?
if you gave a little more background, it'd be easier to help.
if you are interested in animals here's something i suggest:
Get 2 dogs one old (6 or more years), one young ( 1 or 2 years old)
find a trick they both don't know and teach it to both,
record how long it takes, maybe keep a separate journal for both and write down entries and specific problems with the trick,
for example:
"9-28-10
Lucky (young)
i am trying to teach Lucky to sit, but he keeps getting up and running before I encourage good behavior"

other journal
"9-28-10
Spot (old)
Spot won't ever sit the first time, and i have to put the treat very close before he obeys"

the only thing is that if you spend an hour with "Lucky" you must spend an hour with "Spot", if you use peanut butter with "Spot" you must use peanut butter with "Lucky"
before you begin, research more effective techniques for teaching the same trick, but you have to use the same technique for both dogs
the name could be "Can you teach an old dog AND a young dog a new trick?" or something
i was going to do that for my science fair project, but the only trick they both didn't know was "beg" and the older dog had arthritis, so it would have been too hard on the dog, so be sure to check for health problems in either dog, also the dogs cannot be in the same room at the time the other is being taught, one could watch the other and have an advantage
