- Project Question: i have a question regarding the construction of blade design for a wind turbine. However, I'm concerned about asking it, since my entire class is using your website for ideas. i dont want my name or idea to be used by someone else in the forum

variation of wind project
I would like to do a variation of the unleash the power of a pinwheel project. I would like to design the experiment using 2 homemade pinwheels with 4 blades. I want to have one of the pinwheels have its four blades with a tubeular design. i would still use the same testing procedure. Im not sure how to cut the blades so that this would be a fair test.

Re: variation of wind project
It would be a good fair test if both of your designs had the same outside diameter - that is they were the same size.
One thing you should be careful about is how you use the hair dryer. Make sure each pinwheel you test is exactly the same distance from the hair dryer, and that the center of the pinwheel is in the same place. Also make sure you're not real close to the dryer.
Good luck and have fun!
