Soil types in San Diego vs water Erosion

Hello im an eighth grader making a science fair project on how the types of soil in San Diego are effected by water erosion. Right now I 'm drafting the research paper which is due on September 20, 2011. What i need help on is knowing how water erosion affects the soil types in our society.If you can respnd ASAP i'd be very thank ful!!
