Help with EGG DROP WITH LIMITED SUPPLIES

Post by peterey »

Hi i started on my egg drop project and have a pretty good idea on what i'm doing but am a little stuck. The limitations we have are that we can only use straws and minimal tape(no tape on the egg.) My idea was to make a cube out of straws. then in the middle i would have an egg suspended. I thought, "how can i suspend an egg without rubberbands?" but then i figured it out and cut a spiral through the straw until i got a spring thingy that would act perfect as a suspender. Then i would attatch these spiral cut straws from each of the corners and run them to the egg carriage in the middle. The problem i have is creating a carriage that is soft enough for the egg to be extra safe.
P.s. If not everyone's egg breaks by the time we get to the highest drop point, the person who can throw their egg the furthest off of the highest drop point(and the egg not break) wins....anyone have any ideas for a egg carriage?

You sound like a very creative person. I'm sure you can dream up a great solution!

If after thinking about it for a while longer you're still stuck, try looking at these ideas I found by doing a Google search:
