cordless microphone

Post by jumeetha »

Can I use my cordless hedset phone in place of my pc microphone and speekers? I have a Plantronics cordless headset that hooks to my phone. I would like to know if anyone knows a way I could also hook it to my computer to also use it to talk over Yahoo Messenger?

Jumeetha - The 'Ask an Expert' forum is really to assist with student science projects, not a general resource for broad technical questions (like Ask.Com). Perhaps this question is tied to a project, so I'll give you a little direction. Your headset uses the Bluetooth wireless protocol to connect to your phone. Your PC would have to have Bluetooth capability (not available on most computers) to even link to the headset. There is another question as to whether, even with Bluetooth connectivity, if it could access your PC's audio system that is interacting with your programs. There are external USB dongles that could provide connectivity, but there is still the question as to whether it would operate the way you want. You might find better answers by searching the internet and looking at these USB Bluetooth products and their capabilities.
