Re: The Brain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello,
Scientists have generally agreed that the left hemisphere of the brain is used to solve math problems. However, different kinds of math may use different parts of the brain (see this article: http://web.mit.edu/newsoffice/1999/math-0512.html). Exact math calculations are actually linked to language centers in the left frontal lobe, while estimation is linked to the parietal lobe where spacial tasks and analogies are processed.
You can check out this website too: http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/sho ... p?t=419967 And a simple Google search should give you more information if needed.
I hope that helps! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
