Music Science Project This animation shows a standing wave for a fourth harmonic, with the red dots representing nodes. One wavelength is the distance between repeating parts of the wave. For example, between dots 1 and 3 is one wavelength, as is the distance between dots 2 and 4; in other words, the distance between two peaks or two valleys.
