I want an idea representing a question like
How can genetic relate to Diabetes,HIV?
How can your gene represent you both physically as well as mentally?

Hi,

Welcome to Science Buddies! You have a great topic for a science project, but you will need to do more reading to develop this into a manageable project that you can do. Here are some ideas:

If you have very good computer skills, you could do a computer project and explore the link between DNA and genetic diseases like diabetes or perhaps immunity to HIV infection. Here is a link from this website that will lead you to a description of other projects that vary in difficulty:

Here is a project on glucose measurements in food:

Here is two project ideas that involve investigating anti-microbial agents.

Or, you could go to Google Scholar and search for recent research papers on the relationship of genetics to diabetes and HIV. You won't be able to access most of the articles, but you can read the abstracts and find out what questions still need to be answered by research.

Your background reading should help you identify a suitable question that you could answer by doing an experiment. Your challenge will be to find a project for your resources that you have available.

Please post again in this topic if you have more questions.
