Research Resources on Flower Experiment
Hi. My son is doing a project about roses on stems (not plants) growing in different liquids. He already did the project, choosing sugar water, salt water, vinegar and some others. Now he needs to do some background research. What topics specific to this project should he be looking at? We found it difficult so far to locate books or articles which can proved background for this. Any direction would be really helpful, and any other suggestions would be a bonus! Thanks!

Hello and welcome to Science Buddies,
One place to start might be the Project Ideas section of Science Buddies:
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... deas.shtml
I searched for projects using "growing plants in water" and found 88 projects. Here's one of the 88 that looked interesting. Have your son read through the summary and background sections of some of these projects and follow the links to the background papers which are available on the internet.

Another Science Buddies resource that will be helpful is the Project Guide section:
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... ndex.shtml
This will give your son some ideas for organizing his written report for his project.
Best wishes to both of you, and be sure to let us know if you have more questions.
