floating spinach leaves

Post by jar7790 »

I did a lab in school on photosynthesis and floating spinach leaves. My group followed the steps in the lab. Our spinach leaves didn't sink and then start to float. They just floated when we poured them in the petri dish. What went wrong?

Hello,
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... extraction is this your experiment? If so you are supposed to rub the spinach leaves on a piece of paper and not use he leaves directly. Hope this helps!

You might watch this video: https://www.sciencebuddies.org/video?id=753

Is this the experiment you did (and the procedure you followed)? The directions are written in this activity: https://www.sciencebuddies.org/stem-act ... ing-leaves

Below the activity, you’ll find some explanatory material about what you should have observed.
