jst connectors and lithium battery

Post by pearlxoxo »

for an rov robot it says i need a 7.4 lithium battery and jst plug connectors that are compatible with it. i found a battery off amazon but how do i confirm if its compatible with the connectors? i tried googling based on the 4A that the battery can go up to and google said that it’s an extreme fire hazard :(

Hello!

It should be fine, a 4 A rating isn’t dangerous, it just means the battery can safely supply up to 4 A, not that it always will.
You should just check that your battery uses a JST-RCY connector (small red plug with one male and one female side) because that’s the type the ROV project needs. If the Amazon listing says “JST plug” or shows that red two-wire connector, then it’s compatible.
