Potassium iodide/iodine crystals
My 5th grade son has chosen the "bad apple" experiment for his science fair project. It states to test the starch amounts in fruit with a solution using potassium iodide and iodine crystals. The suggested web site to get these chemicals will not send it to a home as they are restricted. Any ideas of how we can get them or are there different chemicals that are not restricted that he could use instead?

You can use iodine instead of Lugol's solution (potassium iodide).
