parasitological essay on relative differences between infectious diseases in Sub Saharan Africa and Western Europe.
How do you think water can serve as both a medium for communicable and non communicable diseases.

Re: Parasitology
Hello,
Water can contain both pathogenic and non-pathogenic contaminants. For example, Norovirus can be spread via contact with water contaminated, which is an example of water being a medium for a communicable disease. If the person shedding this virus contaminates a water source, such as a water fountain, this could further spread the illness. Water could also be contaminated with a chemical, that while not pathogenic, will cause disease. For example, if a water source is contaminated with chloroform, a carcinogenic agent, the person may develop cancer. However, this person is not capable of further spreading their cancer, as this is a non-communicable disease. While both people got their illnesses from water, one person was able to further infect others while the other person cannot.
