Need Help to Rewrite A CRISPR Project Procedure?

Post by anniaameur »

Hello! I am in the eighth grade and I am trying to do a project relative to CRISPR and was trying to base it off this project (link below) but I wanted to try and make E. coli unresistant to an antibiotic instead of making it resistant to the antibiotic, but because I am new to CRISPR I am not confident enough to be able and create my own procedure.

Link for project: https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... lobalgoals

Question
Instead of making the E. coli (or potentially another type of bacteria) resistant to an antibiotic I want to test E. coli against a bacterium that does not affect E. coli and then after editing the bacteria try and make it unresistant to the antibiotic. And in order to do so I need help on how to rewrite the procedure to suit my new project needs. Thank you so much!
