  • Glass jar (a 14 oz jar works well)
  • Water
  • Tablespoon
  • Large plate
  • Granulated white sugar
  • Screw, or other small nontoxic object to use as weight
  • Wooden skewer, Popsicle® stick, or pencil
  • Tape
  • Saucepan

  • Measuring cups
  • Wooden mixing spoon
