During the period from October to March, will travel or other commitments make you unavailable to your team for periods exceeding one week in length or two weeks during the holiday season (vacations of 7-10 days at a time are generally not a problem for your team)?

Science Buddies Child Safety Policy

Science Buddies is dedicated to offering children a safe, educational, online experience. By clicking the Submit Application button, I agree to the Science Buddies Child Safety Policy:
  1. All communication among participants will be monitored by Science Buddies staff.
  2. All Science Buddies participants must treat each other with the utmost respect.
  3. As part of the online safety policy, Science Buddies will use the firm First Advantage® to verify that every adult working with a minor meets our safety requirements:
  • Have a valid social security number and are who they say they are.
  • Have not committed a sexual offense.
  • Have not committed a violent felony.

Only information needed for a check will be provided to the search vendor. All records are kept in the strictest confidence by law and will not be shared with any other organization. Thank you for your understanding.

Insurance Notification

Science Buddies volunteers who register, complete training, and are assigned to mentor students, are automatically covered by our professional liability insurance policy. This coverage extends solely in the performance of providing professional services as an online science fair guide/resources portal and related online mentoring and teaching for others.
