Serial Dilution from E. Coli Kwik Stik (ATCC 25922)
Have a good day everybody :')
I have questions about serial dilution which i am not sure how to start with. I've already read some information from the internet about serial dilution but i still don't get what i want to know. I hope that you all can replay me ASAP. Thanks.
I want to make a dilution from E. Coli Kwik Stik. Here the problem.

Archimedes Squeeze Experiment - Density values over 1g/cm3 not sinking?
Hi there
Question re Archimedes Squeeze experiment https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science-fair-projects/project-ideas/Acero_p044/aerodynamics-hydrodynamics/archimedes-diameter-boat-sink which my daughter tried at home.
When she did the experiment, the foil ball with a diameter of 2.8cm sank, with the longer diameters ranging on average from 10%…

Catalase activity
Catalase activity
Hi, I am doing an Extended Essay project. My experiment was on measuring the catalase activity of cow (bovine), pig (sus scrofa)and chicken (Gallus Gallus). The results to this is that cow had high catalase activity, pig had 2nd fast activity and 3rd was chicken. But I don't exactly have an answer why it's the case. I have been trying to research on all sorts of areas but still couldn't find an answer. I researched on DNA sequences and comparison of them,…

centrifugal force
centrifugal force
Ask an expert: I am a parent of 3rd graders (twins) who have a science project coming up in 2-3 months. I would like to help them do projects on the topic of centrifugal/centripetal force.
I did a project on this topic when I was in school, but I want to see if I can get an idea of how to do it better/execute it better.
I based my project (at the time) on the amusement park ride called The Rotor ( the one where you are spun in a cylinder and then held…

Algae Biofuel and Control
Algae Biofuel and Control
Hello I am part of Energy Project and are doing emphaty research for algae biofuel and containing the algae in a safe way.
How can we prevent the algae from escaping its enclosure.
What could attack algae and prevent it from growing as it should.
Are there any specific environmental situations that prevents algae growth.
Are there any common issues with algae we should be aware of.
Do you believe that algae biofuel is a better…

onion dna extraction
onion dna extraction
My daughter and I have performed this experiment about 6 times now and cannot really get the DNA to spool. It's really difficult to measure for comparison between different onions. Just wondering if we were doing something wrong. We've followed the instructions to our best ability and then tried slight variations within the instructions (ie pipetting the ethanol onto the top vs the bottom of the tube, etc.
Thanks for any advice.

Iodine Clock Reaction | HCl Substitute??
Iodine Clock Reaction | HCl Substitute??
The Iodine Clock Reaction is a science project posted on Science Buddies measuring the reaction rate at which the dark blue complex takes to form. In the chemicals needed (provided by Science Buddies), HCl is included.
Is there another alternative to the project to create the iodine reaction, perhaps without HCl? Or a possible substitute for HCl?
I do not understand the need for HCl when another less…

Soil Moisture Sensor Parts
Soil Moisture Sensor Parts
Hello,
I was wondering if I can substitute a 74HC595 IC for a CD4011 NAND gate IC (which is part of the kit)? Also does a 470 MΩ resistor work better than a 330 MΩ; does it matter if I don't use those exact types of resistors? What are the differences and will the sensor still work?
Re: Soil Moisture Sensor Parts
Hi - are you sure you got the right part number for the 74HC595? When I search for that part it is described as a shift…
