Hyperloop Train System Design (Feedback Appreciated)
Hyperloop Train System Design (Feedback Appreciated)
Hello everyone,
I've been looking into building a large scale, levitating train system in an air-tight tube that transports packages across vast distances (eg the continental US). What's your take on the matter?
Thanks!

MagLev Trains
MagLev Trains
Can MagLev trains help reduce the need for truck drivers, relieving pressure on cargo transportation, allowing for greater movement of goods?
Re: MagLev Trains
Hello,
Magnetic levitation trains are very interesting. Is your question related to a science fair project? Can you tell us a bit more about your project and how we can help you? ScienceBuddies is for helping students with science fair projects.

Measuring H2 and O2 in water electrolysis
Measuring H2 and O2 in water electrolysis
Hi - My kid is doing a home experiment to break water into H2 and O2 and measuring the impact of changing the charge and the amount of salt used. The problem is that there she is not collecting the gas released as the water is in an open beaker. Is there a way to collect and measure the amount of gas released and correlate the battery charge and salt used?

materials list typo?
materials list typo?
Concerning the Science Fair Project: "How Does Soil Affect the pH of Water" (linked below), are the dimensions for the sediment tubes in the materials list correct? 25 cm x 5cm? (250mm x 50mm?) We have not been able to find tubes even near the specified size and most website descriptions give their tube dimensions in mm not in cm like on the materials list. The largest sediment tubes I can find are about half the dimensions required for this…

Grow E. Coli without an incubator
Grow E. Coli without an incubator
I need to grow a reconstituted E. Coli culture for my biology IA, but I do not have access to an incubator. I started the project following instructions from my neutralizing bacteria kit, and it has been five days without significant bacteria growth. There are a few spots of bacteria on the agar, but not enough growth to measure the area of inhibition.
Should I give the bacteria a few more days to grow? Or should I…

Catchy Title for Science Fair Project
I’m trying to help my son come up with a catchy title for his project. He’s measuring the weight capacity of different soils. As in, buildings can collapse if the weight is too much for the soil they are built on. Any ideas??
