DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ENDOPLASMIC RETICULUM AND RIBOSOMES
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ENDOPLASMIC RETICULUM AND RIBOSOMES
I know for a fact that they both produce proteins. So, what's the difference between them if they just both make proteins?
Re: DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ENDOPLASMIC RETICULUM AND RIBOSOMES
Hello,
This is a good question. The endoplasmic reticulum comes in two forms: smooth and rough. The rough endoplasmic reticulum appears bumpy under the microscope because it has ribosomes attached to…

Here are the period results which I computed by computing the…

Hi, my name is Lauren I am in 8th grade, and I am doing a science fair. I was asking my family for ideas, and my father talked about the winning project in his district during Middle School. The student had turned grass clippings from their lawn into sugar! I was wondering if anyone here did this project too, or knows how to do this. Thanks!

Landfill Science Fair Idea
Landfill Science Fair Idea
Hello,
I just got my paper information for the science fair and after scrolling through Science Buddies' ideas, I found one that I really liked to base my idea on. It was the landfill experiment. So, basically, I'd visit or call some local landfills and ask about dumping statistics to determine the most problem waste products and I believe the goal is to determine ways to reduce those appearances in landfills;[i] however, I am unsure of…

Hey!
I was thinking of doing the project "BLASTing Flu Viruses" https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science-fair-projects/project-ideas/Genom_p003/genetics-genomics/blasting-flu-viruses#procedure
but with covid-19 instead of the flu. Do you think there is enough information available or is it too early?
Also, for this project, weather I do it with the flu or covid-19, what would be the hypothesis that I am testing? What is the project going to…

Maglev Trains HELP
Maglev Trains HELP
Hi
I'm wanting to make the maglev train as shown on the website.
I have purchased the magnetic tape ready.
I know about magnets and how they repel and attract depending on the poles. I'm however stuck as to how to achieve this with the magnetic tape that I have purchased to make the train. On the equipment list for 'Build a maglev train' it just mentions buying magnetic tape which I have done. But the tape is attracted to each other when cut in…

Crime Scene Chemistry
Crime Scene Chemistry
Hello, I'm doing the crime scene chemistry project and I can't find a clear answer on how to dispose of the chemicals. Is there something specific that I need to do or can I just dump the chemicals down the sink. Thanks!
Re: Crime Scene Chemistry
Hello,
This experiment uses phenolphthalein, ethyl alcohol, hydrogen peroxide for testing. All of these chemicals can be flushed down the sink and are not hazardous in these small quantities.

Climate Change
Do you think that the extreme heat increase, hurricanes, and melting of ice are all caused by climate change? Also, do you think they can all be reversed?
