The geometry of banking a basket
The geometry of banking a basket
I am making this project for my science fair. I wanted to make this project considering vertical motion in 2 dimensional (using projectile motion). I want to predict the best angle and how much force should be exerted on the ball while throwing also how the angle of projection and force varies from person to person depending on their heights.
Also how the probability of scoring increases if the ball is thrown while…

Gene editing project to prevent cancer
Gene editing project to prevent cancer
Hello,
I am interested in doing a science project related to oncology and gene editing. Specifically, I want to study the anti-cancer mechanisms that have already evolved in other animals (think Peto’s paradox). I have a few ideas on how I could manage this:
One idea is to insert genes that are correlated with cancer resistance into a human cell line. Examples of this may include isotopes of p53…

Speed Appropriateness of Clinostat
Speed Appropriateness of Clinostat
:x In an experiment to grow plants in microgravity using an Arduino clinostat, I implemented normal gravity and microgravity conditions and conducted an experiment with red radish seeds. When implementing microgravity conditions, a clinostat with 30 RPM was used. My prediction was, ‘In microgravity, plants will grow in random directions.’ However, as a result of the experiment, it grew in a certain direction, although…

Best Practices for Integrating ATmega4809 Microcontroller with PC Software
Best Practices for Integrating ATmega4809 Microcontroller with PC Software
I'm currently working on a project that involves integrating the ATmega4809 microcontroller with PC software. I'm looking for advice on the best practices for establishing communication between the microcontroller and the PC, including any recommended libraries or protocols.
For those interested in the ATmega4809's pinout, datasheet, and…

The nutrient agar is crushed.
The nutrient agar is crushed.
When experimenting with growing plants in a microgravity environment using an Arduino Clinostat, the nutrient agar attached to the servo motor gets crushed. How can I solve this?
Re: The nutrient agar is crushed.
Have you tried using a softer, more flexible material to hold the nutrient agar in place? You can use a sponge or foam pad as a base, which can absorb movement without crushing the agar.

Need Help for Newtons Laws of Motion
Need Help for Newtons Laws of Motion
Hello everyone
For a science project I am working on that focuses on newtons laws of motion; I need some help making a couple points more clear. I know the basic concepts of the three rules, but I am having problems using them in practical situations. I want to describe how each law is shown in an unique; real world event and provide an example for each law. For example; I understand that the first law deals with…
