Detect litter with machine learning
Detect litter with machine learning
Hello, I'm currently doing a science fair project on "detect litter with machine learning." I've gotten all my images for my project and done all the steps correctly however whenever i input my video name into the code the output isn't working. What I mean is that the output doesn't show boxes on the videos as it should be and instead shows no detections. I'm hoping someone could reach out soon. Thank you

How can I measure human reaction time accurately without lab equipment?
How can I measure human reaction time accurately without lab equipment?
Hi everyone,
I’m working on a small science project about human reaction time, and I don’t have access to professional lab tools. I’m wondering what the most reliable low-tech methods are (ruler drop test, phone apps, browser tests, etc.) and how to design the experiment so the results are still meaningful.
What are the most common mistakes in…

Exploring Visual Fatigue and Light Emission in Digital Research
Exploring Visual Fatigue and Light Emission in Digital Research
When students and mentors engage in complex projects on Science Buddies, they often spend a significant amount of time conducting literature reviews and analyzing data on digital displays. As we dive deeper into the physics of light and the biology of human vision, a recurring question emerges: How does prolonged exposure to high-contrast digital interfaces affect…

Request for Interview on STEM Renewable Energy Project Guidance
Request for Interview on STEM Renewable Energy Project Guidance
Hello Science Buddies Community,
I’m currently working on a middle school STEM project about renewable energy and would love to gain insights from someone experienced in this field. Would anyone be available for a brief interview (10–15 minutes) to discuss practical tips, common challenges,[URL=https://monkeymartonline.org/online][color=#FFFFFF][size=1]Monkey…

The Build your own gel electrophoresis chamber science experiment
The Build your own gel electrophoresis chamber science experiment
I have now attempted this experiment twice, the first time, the box put it in was a little big and was a failure on my part. The second time I did it with a normal size soap box, but both times, a weird cloudy film would come over top of the box and would kind of bubble so I couldn't see the colors. Now I have two things that I think it might be. 1: In the…

Aerodynamic problems!!!
Aerodynamic problems!!!
Hi!! This might be my last year doing the science fair! Before I state my problem, I would like to express my gratitude to Science Buddies for their assistance every year. Really appreciate it! Anyway, I have a problem. I am doing the Frisbee Aerodynamics project, and it states I have to do two of positive, and two of negative, and I have to do them each 10 times. Am I supposed to have 50+ trials? If not, how many am I supposed to have in total?…

Arduino hot glue question
Arduino hot glue question
Can I use hot glue with Arduino components, and then take it off again, or is it permanent? ( for example, to attach a homemade wheel to a motor. ) :?: :?: :?

Re: Arduino hot glue question
Hi - yes, it's generally safe to use hot glue with electronic components. If you use a lot it may be messy or more difficult to peel off, but it's not going to hurt anything.

Thank you, because a lot of…
