Conservation of energy Conservation of energy Hello, I'm really new to this forum so excuse me if I sound out of the ordinary. Pretty much at the moment I'm doing a project based off of rude golberg machines, and currently I have to point out energy conversion and how is energy conservation. One of the stages I'm having issues with is a bowl being filled of with water which rises a small scale ship which causes the ship to hit the end of a wooden spoon. Can someone please point out the… Read more

working model on energy conservation working model on energy conservation i need a working model on energy conservation. it should not be any kind of wind mill, solar energy panels or generators and i need it to submit it on 4th july 2013 Re: working model on energy conservation student_007 - Not sure I understand your question exactly. I don't know if you are confusing "conservation" with "conversion". There are many kinds of energy, and many methods to "conserve" energy. Efficiency and… Read more

tidal generators and conservation of energy tidal generators and conservation of energy If the moon's gravity produces tides by moving water, and that kinetic energy can be converted to electricity, and if energy cannot be created or destroyed, what is losing energy in order to add kinetic energy to the water in the ocean? The moon doesn't seem to be losing any energy. It's not falling out of its orbit. Where is the exchange of energy that should be happening to prevent power generators… Read more

Change in lifestyle is a key component to realizing a low-carbon society. A research group at Osaka University examined determinant factors associated with the residential consumption and perception of savings of electricity and gas based on data collected from a large-scale survey in Suita City, Osaka, Japan, in two different years: 2009 and 2013, and 'household income', 'actual amount of energy consumption,' and 'perception of energy savings' were identified as three closely related elements. By proving a theory that was first proposed almost 40 years ago, researchers have confirmed a new way that cells conserve energy. The study, led by William Metcalf, G. William Arends Professor of Molecular and Cellular Biology and leader of the Mining Microbial Genomes research theme at the University of Illinois Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology, was published in mBio and gives scientists a better understanding of how organisms conserve energy and function as a part of the global… Read more

Research published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences shows that conserving rainforests in the Amazon River Basin will increase the amount of electricity that hydropower projects in the area can produce. The findings also reveal that if deforestation continues to increase in the Amazon, energy projections for one of the world's largest dams, the Belo Monte in Brazil, decline by one third. Read more
