What's Important in a Science Fair Project
It's true that this project could be done by a younger student, but that's not necessarily bad.
Overall, science fair judges prefer a simple experiment wherein the Investigator displays complete mastery of the underlying theory and can thoroughly explain why the experiment turns out the way it does over a more sophisticated project that the student understands poorly.
You can make this a good project by studying why different fruits have different amounts of vitamin C, why and how your test for vitamin C works, and so forth. If you go deep into the theory, you will learn lots and do well. See this page for ideas on how to do the proper background research: https://www.sciencebuddies.org/mentorin ... blio.shtml
You might also consider other ways to enrich the experiment. Think about testing fresh fruit, old fruit, different means of storage -- I bet you can come up with lots of ideas.
