I need to make a car using the following materials:
a small motor
either a 9 volt or AA battery connected to a black and a red wire
a small block of wood
one rubber band
two small pieces of metal [for axels]
four small wheels made of wood
four small washers
tape
one black piece of plastic with holes and just fits onto [but not securely onto] the width of the wood
either a piece of plastic of a paper type material with holes in the middle going up and down the length of it
I need to make a car with these supplies and it has to go at least 2 meters.
How do i connect the little motor and the rubber band so that the little wheel type thing on the motor rotates and moves the rubber band.
This project should be a series circuit.
My teacher said that the three things a closed circuit needs are conductor [wire?] and insulator [piece of plastic?] and resistor [ don't know?]
Thanks for your concern and help,

What does the shaft on the motor look like? (Diameter and length)
How wide is your rubber band?
You might try using a rubber band as a "belt" under tension with the axle and moter shaft as "pulleys". If you need a different "gearing", you might wrap tape around either the axle to get more torque or around the motor to get more speed.
