Diesel Trains

How Does Diesel Trains Use Diesel Fuel To Move? Why Do Diesel Trains Release Steam From Their Locomotives? Why Do Diesel Trains Make So Much Vibrations? (I want to do research on this topic)

The Locomotive That Makes The Most Vibration, Noise And Steam (That I've Seen)
Is The Genesis Locomotive:

Hello!

What specifically do you want to know about diesel trains? Are you researching about them for a science project? If so, what are you testing/collected data specifically about diesel trains?

Please let us know!

theviolinmaster - A diesel locomotive is really a diesel-electric vehicle. A diesel motor drives a generator to produce electricity that drives electric motors to the traction wheels. Any steam seen is just likely water vapor created as a by-product of the diesel combustion process. As to noise and vibration, that probably has many sources including construction of the engine and cars, suspension system and other elements. The reference to third rail systems are likely describing purely electric trains.
