science fair help!!!!

I have honors biology and i had water pollution for my idea but i don't know how to test it. My teacher asked me how am i going to test it and i said by going to lakes and seeing how it affects the life there and she said no animals are allowed. And this is due Monday so i am freaking out right now if you guys have any old science project ideas that worked in the past please let me know. By the way it just has to be in biology and testable. Thank you.
