Mussel Filtration

Post by indra22 »

Trying to figure out how much pollution is too much for freshwater mussels to handle. Working on a project that reestablishes endangered mussels into waterways, and testing water quality/mussel populations after a year. How often should water quality be sampled? If anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hello! I'd say the frequency of the water being sampled should depend on how often and how much the water is being polluted. Is the pollution controlled? Or is it in a natural environment? All these factors need to be considered in order for you to determine the time.

I hope this helps! :)
