Cacao Genome Project Question

Post by jsuarez4658 »

using the BLAST program, under what setting would I do my research. This program has different settings and I am not quite sure which one would be most appropriate for the project.

If you want the genome of the cacao then use nucleotide BLAST.

You could also just do a Google search and probably find it that way.

What are you looking for? A whole genome search can take a long time to retrieve and analyze. If you know what gene you are looking for and which chromosome it is on, that can reduce your search time substantially.

If you would take the time to explain what you are doing, it would be easier for us to help you.
