Accurate ph and chlorine measurements

Post by trizzleballer20 »

I am testing the growth of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in varying levels of pH and chlorine. The problem is that I want to make sure the levels are accurate, and regular pool kits/ test strips are based off of how you interpret the colors. Do you know of any other -$50 methods of testing chlorine and pH levels?

Hi!
Sounds like an interesting project! Usually the pH test strips should be pretty accurate but in case you might want another website with some possible ideas, check these out-

Hope this helps, good luck!

Here are some sites:
http://www.poolplaza.com/pool-school/ch ... ting.shtml (introduces three ways of testing pH levels in pools/spas)

https://www.indigoinstruments.com/test_ ... ph-litmus/ (this is a pH strip, I have used them before and I find them pretty accurate and not that challenging, just try to use your pH color key and compare the sample directly next to the colors.)

Hope it helps! :D
