gothireve,
This sounds like a very interesting idea for a project, looking at the effects of different diets. However you might want to think about including more people in your experiment than just you and your friend. One of the ways that we can show results that are meaningful and reproducible is by increasing the size of your study to include many other people. Is there a way that you would include a few other people in your experiment?

Hi there,
You have a very interesting idea. In order to measure effects in the most scientific way, you will want all of your participants to do the experiment for the same amount of time. It doesn't have to be simultaneous, but keep in mind that metabolism is affected by more than just diet and exercise. For example, it can be affected by drastic changes in temperature. So you'll want to make sure that you are looking at changes within a similar time frame, so you can control as many environmental variables as possible.
