Incubating Bacteria

Post by MetsFan32 »

Hi, Im doing a project for a summer science research program. Ive decided to take bacteria cultures from different locations around my school, such as the toilet, water fountain, etc. I was wondering how long I have to incubate the cultures, and at what temperature? A quick response would be great, as in like, before 12 PM today. Thanks.

Hi,
Try an internet search for "growing bacteria." You'll find many pages like these:
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/mentorin ... Agar.shtml
http://www.madsci.org/FAQs/micro/culture.html
Please note the safety precautions.

If you have further questions, I'd recommend allowing at least 1 day for response time. This forum is staffed by volunteers who check in periodically, but not always frequently.
