Explaining your project to the class

AFTER you've done your research and concluded your experiments, it is time to prepare for the science fair. Ask specific questions about preparing for a science fair, including how to set up your display board, how to prepare a presentation, etc. (Please post questions about selecting a project or conducting your experiment by posting in the appropriate "area of science" forum.)

Hi,

Almost everyone is a little nervious when they have to speak before a group, particularly if it is your first time doing it. For many people after doing a few times it gets a lot easier. Here are some web pages with tips that may help:

http://garyguwe.wordpress.com/2007/08/0 ... fright-v1/

http://top7business.com/?id=216

http://www.antion.com/articles/stagefright.htm

http://www.mahalo.com/how-to-overcome-stage-fright

You can find many more such sites by entering “overcome stage fright” in a search engine like http://www.google.com or http://www.bing.com.

If this is a long term problem for you, try to find a Toastmasters club you can join (or find out how to start one). Toastmasters has probably helped more people with stage fright than anyone else, and there are lots of clubs around you almost anywhere you live.

Remember that you are not alone in having this challenge, and that everyone in your audience is rooting for you to succeed.

Good luck!
