Some of your questions are answered in the project description itself. (where does the spark occur? why does the spark happen?) are both answered in the project.
Once you've done some reading, post back here and we'll help. But you have to show that you have done research and tried to understand this.
Also searching this forum for spark gap will find a bunch of threads which may answer your questions.

I have really honestly done a lot of research. And i had most of them answered i just wanted to double check and make sure they werent wrong.
I did more research and im still unable to find the answers to..

Same here. This is very vague. For example, "made of wire" is a characteristic of the induction coil, but I don't think that is what you are trying to askWhat are the properties and characteristic of the induction coil?

There are two coils and the ratio of the coils on the two determine the voltage.Suitner92 wrote:By characteristics i mean what do they have in common... such as wiring that would be one...

Changing the voltage could change the amount of air broken down, but I am not sure it would appear bigger. A higher voltage means that you could widen the gap and get a longer spark. But, I'm not sure for the same length gap you could observe a difference, unless you were at the borderline between spark and no spark. Note what I said- "observe a difference" as opposed to "there is a difference". If you are interested, you should try this experiment.
I still don't understand the question "what do the spark gap and the induction coil have in common?""what are the characteristics". You built the device- list what they have in common. I don't know what you mean by spark gap either... do you mean the gap that the spark jumps across or the entire device? What scientific question are you trying to answer with this question?
