Please help a mom out! ASAP
My daughter has to turn in her REVIEW OF LITERATURE 3/5/08 and we have NO IDEA what to do. Her project is do darker candles burn faster than lighter candles, she has done the experiment and her hypothis came out true. We can not find any hardback books to help with this, only books about how to make candles. Can not really find any experiments online for this they do not help at all because they seem to be in the same area we are. If anyone can help out a 6th grader find some information it would make me happy.

Hi,
I did not find consensus in the answers to this question. Some representative answers:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index ... dq6&show=7
http://www.happynews.com/columns/wonder ... n-fast.htm

http://www.onestopcandle.com/candle/canscience.php
http://yedda.com/questions/Candles_burn ... 216261535/
In summary the prevailing view seems to be that the wick type and candle wax type are the important variables, with color of wax not making a significant difference, though I could not find solid evidence to back this up.
Good luck on the project!
