I have chosed to do the experiment called Bouncing Balls Off of Surfaces. After reading the description for key words, I am totally confused on where to start my research. Should I be studying motion, or deflection, or something totally different? Please help

Hi,

You seem to basing your project on the Science Buddies writeup on “bouncing balls off surfaces”:

https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... A&from=TSW

This writeup is an abbreviated project idea. If this is your first ever science project and you are not sure where to start, consider a regular project with a fuller description. In any event you should start by completely reading the Science Buddies Project Guide:

https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... tion.shtml

To do the project you are interested in I would start by learning all about momentum, elastic and inelastic collisions, and then decide on the question you want to answer in your project.

Remember, the idea here is to do something interesting to you and have fun!

Best wishes for a great experience,
