I recommend you type the key words of your topic into google and do a search. I tried this and pulled up a number of different resources. A full experiment of this specific topic was done in 2004. You will want to make sure that you are not simply repeating the previous experiments but tweak the experiment to make it different in some way. You want to find out about how salt crystals grow and what ammonia will do to this process. The chemistry behind the process is what is key....
When you have a better idea of what your experiment will be, we will be better able to help you to discuss the science of what is happening.
