Hi there,

What is your question? Could you tell us a little bit about your project? The background information is basically what is known about your topic already - kind of like an introduction.

Here is a link to some background information on bacteria in general - not sure if this will be helpful without knowing more about your experiment.

Hope this helps. Please get back to us with more details so we can be more helpful.

Good luck!

O sorry bout that. My project is on how much bacteria grows in each part of your home. I had 5 petri dishes in 8 rooms Bathroom, Refrigerator, Kitchen, Living room, Basement, Garage, Bedroom, and Computer Room. And I opened 3 of them to the air for 2 days nd kept 2 closed. At the end of the two days I closed the 3 dishes in each room and put them in my bedroom where there is a constant temp. I watched them grow for the next two weeks
and recorded the size of the colonies.
Thanks Again,

Hi,

Here are a couple of links to some information about bacteria found in the home. You could read this information and write your own background paragraph for your project.

Also have a look at this link about background information:

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Background information

Hi Tarebear,

Without more information on the details of your experiment, here are my suggestions for a background section in 3 paragraphs:

1. Why is your question or topic important? Or, what gave you the idea to do this project?
2. What research has been done on this topic in the past and what were the results?
3. Why did you think your experiment would answer the question you asked?

You want to be very clear and concise. You want whoever is looking at your project, especially the judges, to understand why you did this project.

Good luck! And let us know about your project if you need more information.
