Can't test on animals

Post by bwlk »

Hi! I'm trying to do the experiment about whether or not green labeled laundry detergents are better or worse for the planet for school, however I can't do any testing on animals. Is there any alternative for this?

Hello and welcome to Science Buddies,
Science Buddies has a database with over 1200 science projects. You could search the database looking for projects that are comparing the effect of various detergents on the environment.

https://www.sciencebuddies.org/search?v=pi

Perhaps you could get ideas from those projects to set up your own project. Be sure to let us know if you have more questions!

The project at Science Buddies that matches what you have asked is this one: https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... less-toxic

It does involve worms.

Have you considered experimenting with plants? There are other projects you could look at for models, like the project on greywater.

Your hypothesis for your project will need to be clear in terms of what you are exploring.
