Hey! I was wondering, does the amount of bleach I add affect this project. Like, if I add less bleach would it not stop the glow completely? Thanks.

You are correct, adding less bleach will mean less of the quinine is oxidized and unable to emit blue light. The activity calls for putting two drops of bleach in about one cup of tonic water. You could try only one drop and see if the mixture still glows. Or to get an even lower concertation, increase the amount of tonic water to two cups and use only one drop and see if the mixture still glows.
