Hi,
The project I'm working on requires me to analyze data in netCDF form. I've been trying to find a free netCDF extractor that works on a Mac, but haven't had any luck. I was wondering if anyone could help me find a netCDF extractor that works, or if there are any student versions I can download for free?
Thanks!

Here's info about panoply:
https://www.giss.nasa.gov/tools/panoply/
Does that work for what you need?

Re: netCDF extractor for Mac
Sorry for the late response, but I had already looked into panoply a little, but couldn't find a way to extract my data. I messed around with all the plots they gave me which were helpful, but yeah I need a way to convert and access the netCDF data, not just plot it. Thanks for the help anyways though!

Re: netCDF extractor for Mac
Hi Deetya,
Thanks for letting us know.
Here are 2 possible ways to download the data (there are more ... try googling "how to download netCDF data"
This is an R package:
https://cran.r-project.org/package=ncdf4
This is a NOAA website:
https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/sites/default ... ctions.pdf
I realize you are asking how to do this in a Mac ... if these instructions don't work on a Mac, perhaps a friend or one of your teachers could help you get the data files so you could transfer them to your Mac for your analyses.
We here at Science Buddies would love to hear more about your science project and how you plan to use the data in your science project. Who knows -- perhaps one of the experts here has some experience with net CDF data!
Best of luck!
Madeline
