Question about Exploring Enzymes activity

Post by DagiSci »

For the enzyme lab where we can add the enzymes found in yeast into hydrogen peroxide, in the explore further section, if we wanted to know how environment affects the reaction and wanted to change either pH or temperature, do we change the environment of the hydrogen peroxide and soap solution or the enzyme solution? Please answer as fast as possible its for a School assignment. Thank you very much

Hello,

If you want to know how the environment affects the reaction and want to change either pH or temperature, you would want to change the environment of the enzyme solution and keep the hydrogen peroxide and soap solution consistent. This is because changing the pH or temperature of the enzyme solution will directly affect the enzyme's activity. In this reaction, the hydrogen peroxide and soap solution is the substrate.

I hope this helps!
