Project Question: Hi. I'm doing a project about trees affecting damage to a house during tornadoes and I need an interviewer!! I sent a question days ago with no response. Do you think planting trees in front of a house to prevent data is a good idea? How many trees do you think would be ideal? Would there be any problems with doing this?

My project is about how trees effect damage to a house during a tornado.

Is planting trees in front of a house to prevent tornado damage a good idea? What could go wrong with it?

Hi samlyons1,

It sounds like this is the question you are trying to answer with your experiment. But, some background research is always important. The question of whether trees around a house is helpful or harmful is something that a lot of people have thought about, especially given all the large storms we have had in recent years. A Google search for "trees hurricane protection" brings up a lot of relevant results. Here are a few reputable sources that I found helpful:
