Chlorophyll and Iron

Post by bealefay »

HI,
I understand that many vegetables that are rich in iron are dark green in color. The richness of the green color in leaves comes from high amounts of chlorophyll, right? If this is so, there ought to be a connection between iron and chlorophyll. But I am not able to find it. Can you please help?

The Ask the Expert forums are for students in grades K-12 (and their teachers and parents) who are doing hands-on science projects. If you are doing a hands-on science project, please provide some details about your project, including your hypothesis and the experiments you are planning. Otherwise, there are other sites on the internet where your questions would be more appropriate.

Thank you,
Madeline
