Standards for Can Plants Stop Soil Erosion?
Hello, what are high school level science standards that apply to this experiment. If you know non-science standards as well I would greatly appreciate them.
Re: Standards for Can Plants Stop Soil Erosion?
Hello!
Thank you for your question!
What’s critical to keep in mind for scientific standards is that you must change only 1 variable at a time. In this case, variables you can think of manipulating include: the plant species you test, the type of soil you are observing the erosion of, the weather conditions that would cause soil erosion (likely simulated), or even the time frame under which you observe the erosion. An experiment should have a minimum of 1 experimental group and 1 control group, but you can really design as many experimental groups as is practical for you!
I encourage you to explore some of Science Buddies’ scientific method resources! You can find them here: https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... fic-method.
Let us know if you have any more questions; we’d be happy to help!
