Other color filters for How Blue is Your Sports Drink?

Post by amyCC »

Posting on behalf of student:

"I want to test the concentration of red dye in sports drinks following the procedure for "How Blue is your Sports Drink?" The procedure says that we can test for red dye by making a blue green filter. Can you give me guidance on how many drops of blue and yellow dye would make a blue green filter? The procedure for an orange filter is 1/2 cup of water. 2 drops of red, and 2 drops of yellow. Should there be 3 drops of blue and one drop of yellow to make the blue green, or would I do to of each color?"
