Question about How Do Viruses React To Soap? activity

Post by cwebste3 »

Your picture of a detergent molecule/micelle and the statement/description of a detergent molecule are contradictory to each other. The illustration says the heads are hydrophobic and tails hydrophilic, but the written statement says they are similar to the lipid membrane of a cell with hydrophilic heads and hydrophobic tails. Clarification or correction? Thank you.

Thank you for flagging this problem with the diagram. The labels on the diagram were reversed and have been corrected: https://www.sciencebuddies.org/stem-act ... ills-virus

We apologize for any confusion.
