PLEASE HELP! Wireless Electricity Transmission using Lasers
I am calculating transmission efficiency by calculating the power gained by the solar panel (Volts * Amps) over the power output of the laser (.1 Watts) but it is returning a transmission efficiency over 100 percent. Can someone please help.
Re: PLEASE HELP! Wireless Electricity Transmission using Lasers
Hello,
If your calculations have a transmission efficiency of over 100%, there may be an error in the calculation or assumptions made. Try and heck these things:
- check units in calculations, make sure they are consistent
- measure accuracy, make sure the measurements for voltage and current are accurate
- review assumptions, and make sure there aren't any factors or losses that were neglected (losses can be due to reflection, absorption, or inefficiencies in the solar panel)
- look over your experimental setup
- research on your data to gain data validation, see if your calculated transmission efficiency may be validated through our experiments similar to yours
I hope this helps!
